Participants will learn the basics of how to teach coding using Microsoft MakeCode in conjunction with MineCraft: Education Edition. MakeCode is a free, open-source Block and JavaScript learn-to-code editor that promotes a more inclusive approach to computing education. By the end of this session, participants will gain the knowledge and resources necessary to teach coding with MakeCode.
**MineCraft: Education Edition and Microsoft MakeCode only work on Windows 10 or Mac OS devices, please bring a compatible device. Prior to this session if attending, please download Minecraft: Education Edition and the Code Connection Applications from the following Website:
https://education.minecraft.net/get-started/download/. Once you have successfully downloaded the applications, open MineCraft: Education Edition and sign in with your K12 Office 365 account.
